Data includes site names, designating agencies, designation categories, location descriptions, and emergency and administrative contact information. Mapped sites were determined to be intrinsically sensitive and vulnerable to effects of oil spills. This map coverage identifies publicly designated natural resource areas within the Northwest Ohio Inland Sensitivity Atlas mapping area, for use in oil spill response and contingency planning efforts. The development of spatial databases and Geographic Information System (GIS) products is done in pursuant of the Federal Oil Pollution Act of 1990, which mandated the identification of sensitive resources and development of spills contingency plans nationwide.
