This data set portrays the Congressional Districts of the Lake Michigan basin for the 108th Congress. Lines coincident with Congressional District boundaries were extracted from the existing National Atlas County Boundaries layer. In areas lacking coincident geometry, lines from State data sets or from an Election Data Services data set were integrated into the file. This is an update of the March, 2003 data set.
These data are intended for geographic display and analysis at the
national level, and for large regional areas. The data should be
displayed and analyzed at scales appropriate for 1:2,000,000-scale data.
No responsibility is assumed by the U.S. Geological Survey in the use of
these data.
