This dataset represents the Lake Superior Circle Tour route in ESRI shapefile format. It was created in 2007 from the descriptions of the route on the WisconsinHighways.org, MichiganHighways.org, and Great Lakes Information Network Lake Michigan Circle Tour (<http://www.great-lakes.net/tourism/circletour/superior/#roadgreater than) web sites . The dataset was created by downloading TIGER 2000 files from the ESRI and the Ontraio Road Network from the Geography Network Canada and extracting the Circle Tour route.
</abstract>
<purpose>The purpose of the dataset is to include the Great Lakes Circle Tour route as part of Wisconsin's Great Lakes Circle Tour -- Coastal Access Guide (<http://www.aqua.wisc.edu/glct/greater than). The intention is to share the data set with others in the region through the Great Lakes Information Network GIS (<http://gis.glin.net/greater than).
